TEMECULA, CA – Pechanga Resort Casino and the American Red Cross recently hosted a blood drive for the community and Pechanga team members to help alleviate the worst blood shortage in more than a decade. At the event, 105 donors turned up and 93 units of blood were collected, exceeding the Red Cross’ goal of 90 units of blood they hoped to net from the drive. Every unit of blood can help save up to three people’s lives. This means, up to 279 lives could be saved from this blood drive alone.
The Red Cross cites a 10 percent decline in the number of people donating blood since the pandemic began and ongoing blood drive cancellations.
To further help support the Red Cross and its blood collection efforts, Pechanga will host another blood drive on Tuesday, Apr. 26 between 8am and 6pm in the Pechanga Summit Events Center.
