COARSEGOLD, CA – As storm-related emergencies continue to impact the State of California, Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino is providing financial support to the American Red Cross of the Central Valley and the Central California Animal Disaster Team (CCADT) with a $10,000 donation shared between the organizations to aid their emergency response initiatives.
Efforts by the organizations have been heroic, positively impacting the community in this time of need:
- American Red Cross of the Central Valley. The Red Cross has mobilized relief supplies and trained disaster workers across the vast 400-plus miles of California impacted by these storms – from Yuba City to Ventura. Teams are working with local and state officials to help ensure people get the help they need. As of Jan. 12, more than 350 Red Cross disaster workers have joined with its partners to provide more than 10,200 meals, over 60 shelters and over 3,400 overnight shelter stays.
- Central California Animal Disaster Team. CCADT, which assists emergency response agencies and the American Red Cross with animal evacuation during disasters, has been working with Merced County Animal Services since Jan. 9 to provide emergency sheltering for small and large animals including small companion pets, horses, ponies and goats.
“In times of crisis, it’s critical the community comes together to provide support,” said Janet K. Bill, Tribal Chairperson. “Chukchansi Cares supports philanthropic organizations and is a long-time advocate for the American Red Cross and animal-related efforts. We are proud to continue to provide our support as they take on the significant challenge of helping those impacted by this disaster.”
Chukchansi Gold’s Chukchansi Cares program donates thousands of dollars to local non-profit organizations every year, in total giving over $20 million in charitable dollars toward community benefit programs and initiatives.
