SOUTH BEND, IN – The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians and its Four Winds Casinos has named Beacon Children’s Hospital as beneficiary of the 2023 Four Winds Invitational. Proceeds will be used for a GlideScope® airway visualization system to help with intubation of patients and two Panda™ Warmers with resuscitation equipment for infant care.
“The Pokagon Band and our Four Winds Casinos are very proud of our longtime sponsorship of the Four Winds Invitational, which has generated close to $900,000 in proceeds for Beacon Health System and Beacon Children’s Hospital over the last 11 years,” said Rebecca Richards, Tribal Chairwoman for the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi. “We are looking forward to the 12th edition of the tournament this year and appreciate the continued support from the South Bend community including the City of South Bend, our sponsors, vendors, volunteers, team members, as well as our partners, the LPGA Epson Tour and South Bend Country Club.”
“Including this year’s $200,000 purse, we have offered over $1.5 million in prize money since we began hosting the Four Winds Invitational in 2012,” said Clayton Mason, Interim-Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Four Winds Casinos. “Having the tournament take place at South Bend Country Club, along with proceeds going to Beacon Children’s Hospital, has made the Four Winds Invitational extra special, not only for the players, but also everyone involved in supporting the tournament.”
“We are grateful for our government-to-government relationship with the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi and their generous contributions to the City of South Bend, which help fund a variety of critical services and community development initiatives,” said City of South Bend Mayor James Mueller. “We also value their direct support of Beacon Health System and Beacon Children’s Hospital, which provides critical medical care and support to so many families and children in our region. We look forward to another great Four Winds Invitational this year.”
The Four Winds Invitational is part of the Epson Tour, which entered its 43rd year of structured competition in 2023 and is the most established women’s qualifying tour in the world as the one “Road to the LPGA.” The tournament will take place from Thursday, August 10 through Saturday, August 12 at South Bend Country Club.
