NIAGARA FALLS, NY – As autumn begins in Western New York, Seneca Gaming Corporation is launching a month-long effort to support neighbors in need throughout the region.
The company announced that public donations of money and non-perishable food items will be collected every Tuesday in October at its three casino locations– Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino in Niagara Falls, Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino in Salamanca, and Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino in downtown Buffalo. The donations will be delivered to FeedMore WNY for distribution to local individuals and families.
“We are a local company, and we stand with our neighbors,” said Kevin Nephew, Seneca Gaming Corporation President & CEO. “We know that Western New York embraces the spirit of community like no place else, and we wear that community heart on our sleeve. With the holiday season not far away, we are asking our patrons and friends to come together with us and the incredible team at FeedMore to help look out for our neighbors in need, especially at this time of year.”
The casinos are providing some special incentives to encourage people from across the region to donate. In exchange for every monetary donation of at least $10, or every donation of at least five non-perishable food items, individuals age 21 and older will receive $10 in free slot play redeemable at any of the three Seneca Resorts & Casinos locations. Donations will be collected every Tuesday in October, beginning on Tuesday, October 3, from 11:00am-7:00pm. Designated donation drop-off locations include the bus lobby at Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino, Social Club at Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino, and Social Club at Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino.
According to FeedMore WNY, among the items most in need are: cereal; peanut butter and other nut butters; canned tuna and chicken; canned soups, stews, and chili; canned fruits and vegetables; canned or dried beans; boxed macaroni & cheese, pasta, and rice; pasta sauce; and baby food, formula, and diapers.
“FeedMore WNY is extremely grateful for the continued support of Seneca Gaming Corporation,” said Collin Bishop, Chief Communications Officer for FeedMore WNY. “Last year alone, FeedMore WNY provided nutritious food and resources to a total of 197,500 individuals throughout our four-county service area. Partners like Seneca Gaming Corporation and the Western New York community make our mission possible.”
The donation drive is the latest community partnership between Seneca Gaming Corporation and FeedMore WNY. Last year, Seneca Gaming Corporation organized a public collection of monetary and food donations to support the neighborhoods most immediately impacted by the deadly mass shooting on May 14, 2022. Seneca Gaming Corporation officials and employees delivered more than 700 pounds of food and personal care items donated by casino employees and guests to the FeedMore WNY warehouse on Holt
Street in Buffalo. The company has conducted several internal donation drives among its more than 3,000 local employees as well.
