OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Oklahoma City Indian Clinic (OKCIC) has been acknowledged with the 2023 Oklahoma State Award for Performance Excellence by the Oklahoma Quality Foundation. The award represents the clinic’s third acknowledgment by the foundation for its commitment to excellence and marks the first occasion OKCIC has received the achievement for outstanding organizational leadership and performance.
OKCIC’s leadership has chosen the Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence as its framework for results. The Baldrige Performance Excellence Program is the nation’s public-private partnership dedicated to improving the performance, resilience, and long-term success of U.S. businesses and other organizations. Emphasizing and aligning with the
clinic culture and mission to provide excellent health care to its patients, the Baldrige criteria is seen as instrumental in fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
Leaders at OKCIC have actively pursued this undertaking by implementing comprehensive process improvements, expanding its workforce to better serve patients, adopting state-of-the-art technology and providing extensive training opportunities.
“This journey is about more than an award,” said Robyn Sunday-Allen, CEO of OKCIC. “It has paved the way for us to achieve our clinic’s goals and work towards our vision of becoming the national model for American Indian health care.”
