CABAZON, CA – The Morongo Band of Mission Indians has presented Banning Pass Little League with a $150,000 contribution to help renovate dugouts and ball fields at Lions Park in Banning.
“The Banning Pass Little League helps teach local youth about the value of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance, all while keeping kids physically fit and active,” said Morongo Tribal Chairman Charles Martin. “We are grateful for the opportunity to support a youth sports league that provides young athletes with a safe environment where they can build character and friendships that will last a lifetime.”
Robert Sibole, President of the non-profit Banning Pass Little League, thanked Morongo for the donation, which will fund the renovations ahead of the 2024 season when an expected 500 local youth will take to the fields.
“The Morongo Band of Mission Indians has hit another home run for the Banning Pass Little League with a $150,000 donation that is bringing much-needed improvements to our dugouts and ball fields,” said Sibole. “Every year, hundreds of local boys and girls and their families participate in our tee ball, baseball, softball and challengers programs, and we deeply appreciate the Morongo Tribe’s continued support of our mission to assist youth in developing the qualities of citizenship, discipline, teamwork and physical well-being.”
