Little River Casino Resort To Celebrate 25th Anniversary in July

Little River Casino Resort

MANISTEE, MI – Little River Casino Resort (LRCR), owned and operated by the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians, will celebrate its 25th anniversary in July. Located just north of Manistee, a community on the shores of Lake Michigan, Little River Casino Resort is situated at the corner of the US31 and M22.

The casino was opened by the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians on July 21, 1999 as an interim facility with just 600 slot machines. The casino has since grown to deliver a premier gaming experience with over 1,100 slot and video poker machines, as well as dozens of table games.

In 2002 the tribe moved its casino from the interim building into its current facility. The resort features a hotel with 292 rooms inspired by the area’s beautiful natural surroundings. Additionally, a 95-space RV Park is available for visitors traveling on the open road. A suite of amenities include indoor and outdoor pools, numerous restaurants, and a luxurious Nectar Spa & Salon. An entertainment venue also hosts nationally headlining musical and comedy acts in a 1,600-seat event venue.

Most recently, LRCR launched the Trading Post convenience store, Wolf River Golf Park (rebranded from the Bear Lake Golf Course) and continues to look at opportunities to increase the resort’s product offering. As a partner in the community, LRCR continues to give its support with events such as Charity Golf Outing, Change for Charity, Tightlines for Troops, Annual Manistee County Forest Festival Fireworks, Revenue Sharing Funds, among others.

During its 25 years of operation, many changes have taken place, but providing excellent customer service has remained at the forefront. Moving into its 25th year, LRCR leadership has begun transitioning its corporate culture back to the teachings of the tribe, which naturally conforms with the hospitality provided on property. This transition adopts the Seven Grandfather teachings and readily translates to the LRCR team and its guests on what it means to be a family and team member, and to be treated with respect.

To celebrate this anniversary, LRCR is providing players with the opportunity to pick up multiple 25th anniversary branded gifts, a 25th anniversay ‘Road to Riches’ drawing, and a weekend of outdoor events and evening entertainment.

“We are very excited about the months ahead, and what Little River Casino Resort has done for the tribe and community,” said Michael Schrader, GM. “We look forward to even bigger things in the future as we continue to be visionary leaders in the gaming industry.”
