SNOQUALMIE, WA – Snoqualmie Casino and the Snoqualmie Tribe celebrated the placement of the highest beam on their new hotel with a topping ceremony. This event signifies a major step forward in the casino’s ongoing expansion project.
Stanford Le, CEO and President of Snoqualmie Casino, began the ceremony by expressing his gratitude to the 1,500 construction team members working on the project. “It’s been pretty amazing what this construction crew has done to get us to this point,” said Le. “I’ve been watching from my office. These guys are amazing.”
Two flags – an American flag and the Snoqualmie tribal flag – and a small tree, gifted to the tribe by the project iron workers, symbolizing no lives lost during the project, were lifted with the beam and placed on the top corner of the 210-room hotel tower.
The expansion is a historic project for the Snoqualmie Tribe, offering nearly 500 additional job opportunities and promising to bolster local tourism with an unparalleled gaming and hospitality venue. Bergman Walls & Associates, the architects behind the project, have integrated architectural elements reflecting the rich heritage of Snoqualmie culture. The modern slant roof hotel design pays homage to the longhouses of the tribe’s ancestors, complemented by a curated selection of artwork throughout the resort to enhance guests’ experience. Skanska, the project general contractors, will transition from steel and structural work on the outside of the expansion to building and completing the interiors.
For the Snoqualmie Indian Tribe, known historically as the People of the Moon and signatories to the Treaty of Point Elliott in 1855, the expansion underscores their ongoing commitment to economic development and cultural preservation. With tribal enterprises already providing over 1,700 jobs throughout the Snoqualmie Valley, the new hotel and casino expansion is set to make an even more significant impact.
The expansion of the casino, which broke ground in 2022, is expected to be completed in 2025.
