American Indian Higher Education Consortium Elects New Executive Committee

PALM SPRINGS, CA – The American Indian Higher Education Consortium (AIHEC) met in Palm Springs, CA, this week for their annual fall board meeting and elected a new executive committee that will spearhead board activities for the organization.

Those elected to the AIHEC executive committee include: Elmer Guy, President of Navajo Technical University as Committee Chairman; Leander McDonald, President of United Tribes Technical College as Vice-Chairman; Dawn Frank, President of Oglala Lakota College as Secretary; Manoj Patil, President of Little Priest Tribal College as Treasurer; and Eva Flying, President of Chief Dull Knife College as Member-At-Large.

“While all the Tribal College and University (TCU) presidents are members of our board, the commitment of those serving on our executive committee will be more demanding as we will rely on their ambitious and visionary outlook for all our TCUs,” said Ahniwake Rose, AIHEC President and CEO. “Those represented in this new executive committee is a great mix of seasoned and new leadership that will not only help us in maintaining our history and culture, but also utilize new ways to do so. I am excited to collaborate with this new executive committee as we continue our advocacy efforts for our TCUs.”
