TULSA, OK – The Muscogee Nation, Muscogee Nation Gaming Enterprises and city of Coweta officials broke ground on the Muscogee Nation’s $100 million capital investment to build the Coweta Casino Hotel on 17 acres at the southeast corner of East 131st Street South and State Highway 51 in Coweta, OK. The project will create 250 new jobs and open in spring 2026.
The 104,000 sq. ft. development features a 35,000 sq. ft. casino with 750 gaming machines. Additionally, the development will benefit regional tourism with an upscale, 46-room hotel with a pool, fitness center, concierge services, and a meeting and event space to accommodate as many as 150 guests.
“Investing in the City of Coweta represents a remarkable new chapter in our growing entertainment and hospitality legacy,” said Muscogee Nation Principal Chief David Hill. “We are proud to develop land throughout our historic reservation and this project adds to our significant economic development investments within the greater Tulsa region. The Coweta Casino Hotel will expand cultural tourism, create jobs and enhance the quality of life of our citizens.”
Plans for the Coweta Casino Hotel also include a raised center casino bar, a full-service, 150-seat restaurant and private dining room. Externally, visitors will be welcomed by a 1,000-space, paved parking lot and a vibrant porte-cochère entrance.
“With a significant investment of $100 million, we aim to build not only a premier destination for guests, but also a thriving hub that positively impacts the local community and the broader economy,” said Pat Crofts, CEO of Muscogee Nation Gaming Enterprises. “From generating hundreds of construction jobs in the short term to creating 250 new, permanent positions across operations, hospitality, and entertainment, this development will support local talent and contribute meaningfully to the prosperity of the area with a considerable, positive economic impact each year. The new facility will combine world-class accommodations, gaming, dining, and leisure amenities, reflecting our dedication to providing exceptional experiences and our belief in the region’s future.”
According to the Tulsa Regional Chamber’s economic impact report:
- During the construction phase, the capital investment in the Coweta Casino Hotel will support an estimated 501 jobs in the region providing $22.6 million in income for a total economic impact of $132.5 million in the Wagoner County region.
- When fully operational, the Coweta Casino Hotel will create 250 new, direct jobs that will support an additional 346 jobs in the community for a total of 596 jobs across the Wagoner County region. These jobs will create $27.5 million in new income annually.
- The annual spending on operations through the purchase of goods and services will also contribute to the positive economic impact.
In addition to the investment in the Coweta Casino Hotel, the Muscogee Nation has invested more than $11.17 million since 2019 to improve the region’s infrastructure, water resources and public safety through partnerships with the City of Coweta and Wagoner County.
“The Muscogee Nation has been a valuable partner to the City of Coweta, with a local investment in infrastructure and public safety that benefits all Coweta citizens of more than $1.5 million in the past five years,” said Coweta Mayor Naomi Hogue. “I am looking forward to an even stronger partnership with this new investment into Coweta.”
“The Coweta Casino Hotel will serve as a powerful economic engine in our local business community,” said Jake Dwyer, Board President of the Coweta Chamber of Commerce and SVP Community Bank president at Firstar Bank. “This development not only adds exciting new amenities and job opportunities for our citizens, but will also generate wider economic benefits by encouraging complementary local businesses and services to invest and grow.”
Muscogee Nation Gaming Enterprises will hire and train local residents and tribal citizens. Careers opportunities include positions in management, gaming services, hospitality, food and beverage services, information technology, security, and facility maintenance.
“This milestone would not have been possible without the vision, collaboration, and dedication of our project partners and the community leaders standing here with us today,” said Andy Langston, COO of Muscogee Nation Gaming Enterprises. “Together, we are building not just a project, but a foundation for growth, opportunity, and positive change in the Coweta community. We look forward to working side by side to bring this project to life and make a lasting impact.”
