REDDING, CA – Redding Rancheria has officially broken ground on a revolutionary 185,000 sq. ft. Health & Wellness Campus. The innovative space will showcase the sacred knowledge of their ancestors alongside cutting-edge science and state-of-the-art technology. The campus will serve as a beacon of wellness, blending Indigenous knowledge with contemporary research to provide a holistic approach to health – one that nurtures the whole person rather than merely treating symptoms.

“In our communities, healing has always been sacred,” said Glen Hayward, Redding Rancheria Executive Director. “This campus is a testament to the strength and resilience of our people. We are not just building a medical center – we are reclaiming a way of life.”
“This project has been in the tribe’s strategic plan for 30 years,” said Tracy Edwards, Redding Rancheria CEO. “We are thankful for all the people who made this happen, including many who are no longer with us.”

The Health & Wellness Campus will feature:
- Traditional Healing Spaces – Honoring the power of ceremonies, plant medicines, and Indigenous healing modalities.
- Preventive & Integrative Care – Focused on lifestyle medicine, nutrition, and disease prevention strategies that align with ancestral wisdom.
- Advanced Medical Technology – Bringing state-of-the-art diagnostics and treatment to complement traditional approaches.
The tribe says the groundbreaking ceremony is not just about turning soil – it is about turning the tide on healthcare disparities, about reclaiming their birthright of wellness, and about forging a future where their children and grandchildren will once again know the strength of a people who thrived through connection, balance, and respect for the natural world.
