AUBURN, CA – Chapa-De Indian Health has received over $815,000 in grants to support ongoing COVID-19 efforts. “We are incredibly grateful for this generous support,” said Lisa Davies, CEO of Chapa-De Indian Health. “These grants have allowed us to continue providing critical and necessary care to our communities throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.”
“With decades of experience caring for California’s most vulnerable residents, we know that one size does not fit all,” said Brian Ternan, President and CEO of Health Net and California Health and Wellness. “That’s why we work hand-in-hand with local communities to ensure we’re serving those who depend on us the most. As one of the state’s longest and most experienced Medi-Cal partners, Health Net is dedicated to ensuring all Californian’s have access to appropriate health care, especially those from communities hit hardest by COVID-19.”
Over the last 16 months, these grants have been instrumental in funding Chapa-De’s strong COVID-19 response. As a tribal health clinic serving low-income community members, these grants have allowed Chapa-De to ensure their health and wellness by increasing access to COVID-19 testing and vaccines, providing ongoing vaccine education and promoting COVID-19 safety measures.
“Chapa-De is honored to work with such great organizations dedicated to increasing COVID-19 education and awareness,” said Alinea Stevens, Medical Director of Chapa-De Indian Health. “Our COVID-19 response has made a big difference in the well-being of our community and individual patients. This would not have been possible without the grant money received from these organizations.”
