PLACERVILLE, CA – Red Hawk Casino and the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians have been working to assist, not only the dozens of casino employees and tribal members impacted and evacuated by the Caldor Fire in El Dorado County, but the community as well.
Hot meals for 225 evacuess were delivered to local Red Cross evacuation centers in Diamond Springs, Cameron Park and Placerville. Additionally, the tribe and casino have arranged for more than a dozen portable restrooms and mobile shower facilities to be delivered to evacuation centers, along with chargers for electronic devices, toys for evacuated families with children, and more.
As the Caldor fire progresses and evacuations remain in place, Red Hawk Casino and the tribe have offered the El Dorado County area support and reassurance that they will remain a strong community partner and offer additional resources and relief as more information on those needs become available.
