AGEM Index Increases 11.4 Percent in May

LAS VEGAS, NV – The AGEM Index increased by 126.56 points to 1,235.62 in May 2024, an 11.4 percent increase from the prior month. Compared to one year ago, the index was up 278.64 points, or 29.1 percent. During the latest month, eight of the 12 AGEM Index companies reported stock price increases, which resulted in eight positive contributions and three negative contributions to the AGEM Index.

The largest positive contributor to the monthly index was Aristocrat Leisure Limited (ASX: ALL), whose 12.6 percent increase in stock price led to a 67.53-point gain to the index. Meanwhile, Konami Corp. (TYO: 9766) saw its stock price increase by 14.8 percent, leading to a 32.43-point gain for the index.

In May, all three major U.S. stock indices increased from the prior period. The NASDAQ grew by 6.9 percent over the month, while the S&P 500 rose by 4.8 percent. Additionally, the Dow Jones Industrial Average increased by 2.3 percent from the prior month.
