Rancho Mirage, CA – Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa Rancho Mirage recently reached a major milestone turning 20 years old. The Forbes Four-Star award-winning resort opened its doors to the public on April 6, 2001, and has been a major part of the community, economy, and entertainment scene of the Coachella Valley ever since. The resort’s 16-story hotel tower, the third tallest in the Inland Empire, came seven years later in 2008.

The property, and the land it is built on, is owned by the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians. The storied site was first made famous in 1963 when part of the filming of It’s a Mad Mad Mad Mad World took place across its desert sands.

Throughout the years, Agua Caliente Rancho Mirage has employed tens of thousands of Valley residents – 44 of whom are still with the company today. “This is a very dependable tribe to work for. I’ve enjoyed my time here. I’ve always been treated with respect, which is what I try to give back. I’m very proud to say I work at Agua Caliente,” said Leah Conlee of the table games department who has worked for Agua Caliente Rancho Mirage since its opening.

Since 2001, guests of Agua Caliente Rancho Mirage have enjoyed nearly one million jackpots equaling nearly three billion dollars as well as, cars, vacations, and other life-changing prizes. Guests have been wowed by A-list entertainment from artists such as Jerry Seinfeld, Duran Duran, and Dolly Parton, and many more whom have graced the stage of the state-of-the-art theater known as The Show.

“It is an honor to work for this tribe. They are one of the largest employers in the Coachella Valley and have been committed to this community for decades. Our employees are the power of this organization, and through their talent, determination, and imagination, we have both grown our business and our reputation for excellence,” said Saverio Scheri III, COO of Agua Caliente Casinos. Scheri added, “And knowing we have paid out nearly three billion dollars in jackpots is astonishing. What a pleasure it is to know that we have changed so many people’s lives for the better,” Scheri concluded.

On April 6 ACE Club members received free play ranging from $20-$120 and the casino resort also celebrated with a $20,000 free play giveaway where guests had a chance to win up to $2,000 in free play. Guests who joined for the occasion also received a complimentary commemorative t-shirt; cupcakes available in The District food court; Sunstone Spa 20% off discounts; and a food and beverage happy hour.
