AKWESASNE, NY – The Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort (AMCR) has held the grand opening of “Embers” – a new state-of-the-art smoking room. With a negative air pressure sliding door system, high-tech HVAC and smoke evacuation system, guests can play with ease.
“We look forward to opening the smoking room for guests who enjoy smoking while they play,” said Scott Freeman, AMCR General Manager. “AMCR has been non-smoking for four years, and we’ve had requests from guests to bring back an indoor smoking area. We want to provide an entertainment escape for all our guests to enjoy.”
Additionally, with the purchase of the Player’s Inn hotel next door, guests who smoke can enjoy rooms equipped for their needs on the third floor where they will find a total of 41 designated smoking rooms available.
“Embers smoking room is a welcomed addition to our casino,” said St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Chief Michael Conners Jr. “It serves a particular segment of players without adversely affecting others.”
