COACHELLA, CA – Augustine Casino has announced its 2023 Team Member and Leader of the Year. Lead Slot Attendant Gloria Gonzalez and Senior Staff Accountant Robert Cortez were honored at the casino’s annual awards dinner on March 5, 2024.
The casino honors a team member and leader annually who have demonstrated dedication, phenomenal service, teamwork, excellent communication skills and have embraced the Augustine vision for the betterment of the tribe, casino, guests and fellow team members.
Team Member of the Year Gloria Gonzalez began her career with Augustine in 2021 as a housekeeper before transferring to the slots department as a Slot Attendant in 2022. In 2023, she was promoted to Dual Rate Slot Lead followed quickly by a subsequent promotion to Lead Slot Attendant due to her determination and dedication to her role.
“Her work ethic and poise are inspiring to others” said Israel Rodriguez, Slot Operations Manager. “Her dedication, contributions and selfless attitude truly embody the essence of an outstanding team member.”
Leader of the Year Robert Cortez joined Augustine Casino in 2006 as a Cage Cashier. Through 18 years of dedication and increasing levels of expertise, Cortez rose through the ranks of the Accounting Department to Senior Staff Accountant in 2023. Cortez was recently promoted to Controller.
