TUOLUMNE, CA – Black Oak Casino Resort will significantly expand their on-site gas station and convenience store, Bear Creek Station, to provide more grocery options including fresh fruit, vegetables, and meat. Construction began on January 30 and will be completed by June 1.
“Tuolumne is a small community that has recently lost its primary grocery store, so providing healthy food options here locally so people don’t have to drive to a neighboring town for a few items is important to us,” said Ty Day Jr., Chair of the Tuolumne Economic Development Authority Board of Directors. “Guests of the hotel or casino will be able to enjoy our expanded floor plan as well, providing a more rounded out food shopping option that will have something for everyone.”
Since construction was completed in 2011 Black Oak Casino Resort guests, Tuolumne County citizens, and visitors alike have enjoyed the convenience Bear Creek Station has provided with gas and diesel fuel pumps, a 24-hour touchless car wash, a wide variety of snacks and drinks, made-to-order tacos and burritos, and even fishing supplies.
“If there’s one thing that all of our recent projects have in common, it’s that they all aim to help service the community at the end of the day,” said Darryl Tinkle, President of the Tuolumne Economic Development Authority. “We are excited to get started on the Bear Creek expansion and look forward to providing a healthy, robust, and convenient shopping option.”
