DURANT, OK – Choctaw Nation Small Business Development (CSBD) is highlighting entrepreneurs and helping shoppers during National Small Business Week through a social media campaign and marketing its ‘Chahtapreneur’ business locator app. The app uses one’s location to help find Choctaw tribal member-owned small businesses nearby. Shoppers can download the app, Chahtapreneur, in any app store.
“The Chahtapreneur business locator app is a feature we are thrilled to be able to offer our clients to help drive traffic to their small businesses,” said Billy Hamilton, Director of Choctaw Nation Small Business Development. “It’s also a great tool for shopping-conscious individuals who want easier ways to find small, locally owned businesses to support.”
Choctaw Nation Small Business Development works with tribal members who hope to open a business or are already in business on financial planning, marketing, expansion and much more. CSBD offers on-site trainings at their business centers in Durant and Idabel, as well as one-on-one advising and online trainings.
CSBD is currently working with 2,864 clients, including 1,736 who have already opened businesses and 1,128 who are working toward that goal. Chahtapreneurs – CSBD clients with active businesses – support nearly 5,000 jobs within the reservation.
