COURSEGOLD, CA – The Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Indians hosted a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the start of construction on their new tribal government offices. The new tribal government offices will be located next to Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino on the tribe’s ancestral lands and feature over 40,000 sq. ft. of space that will encompass all existing government functions, tribal services, and add space for new services, including a tribal preschool.
“The groundbreaking of our new tribal government offices marks a momentous milestone for the Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Indians,” said Tracey Hopkins, Chairwoman of the Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Indians. “We are proud to have the ability to bring our government buildings back home to our ancestral lands as we continue to expand our tribal programs for our community. Each day, we are working to advance the common welfare of our tribe, and these buildings will allow us to continue to do just that.”
The Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Indians provides many essential services and programs to its tribal members, including health, regulatory departments, economic development, education, youth, and housing programs.
Once completed, the tribal government offices and economic branches will house the employees at this location. Construction is expected to be completed in early 2026.
