BATTLE CREEK, MI – Bryant Phillips, a member of the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi (NHBP), has been named Vice President of Human Resources for FireKeepers Casino Hotel, as announced by CEO Frank Tecumseh.
Phillips, a long-time Battle Creek resident, began his management career with Denso, where he worked for nearly 15 years in various management roles, before joining FireKeepers opening team as a day-one team member in early 2009. Phillips has most recently served as the Director of Human Resources since early 2020.
“Bryant possesses a tremendous amount of knowledge, not only of the FireKeepers property, but also of the casino industry as a whole,” said Tecumseh. “That knowledge coupled with his love of the tribe and the casino, makes him a great fit for this role. We are confident in his ability to help lead this great team.”
Phillips is also actively serving on the Board of Directors for Waseyabek, the tribe’s economic development company, in addition to NHBP’s Audit Committee. He is the first Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi tribal member to be appointed an executive position with the property.
“I look forward to the next steps in my journey and career at FireKeepers,” said Phillips. “I am excited to further assist in creating a rewarding, vibrant experience for guests and team members alike in this new capacity.”
