Koasati Pines

Ranked #18 in the U.S. on Golf Advisor’s Golfer’s Choice Top 50 U.S. Courses list, as well as currently holding the #1 spot on Best Golf Course in Louisiana for three years in a row, Koasati Pines at Coushatta is part of Coushatta Casino Resort, owned and operated by the Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana. This spectacular course has regularly captured top honors from golf course publications since its opening in 2002.

Koasati Pines and Coushatta Casino Resort partnered with Notah Begay III, hosting the Inaugural Jr. Golf National Championship. This prestigious tournament was held in November 2020 and featured the nation’s best junior golfers. The three-day tournament was televised on Golf Channel in prime time – a first for a junior golfing competition – airing over two hours of broadcast time.

Koasati Pines

Begay is a Native American professional golfer, the first Native American golfer to have played in the PGA Tour. It was a significant achievement for Native American culture that Coushatta Casino Resort, a tribally-owned property, partnered with the first Native American member of the PGA to present this inaugural tournament. Begay is currently an analyst for Golf Channel and NBC Sports networks.

Designed by Kevin Tucker to be an out-of-the-ordinary golfing experience, Koasati Pines at Coushatta is nestled in the natural wetlands of southwest Louisiana, surrounded by stately pines and huge live oaks, and consistently delivers a golfing experience unlike any other. The beauty of nature seamlessly merges with a dynamic 18-hole, par-72 championship layout, six sets of tees, multiple approaches on three holes, plus a unique 19th “gambling hole” that is perfect for settling personal wagers and tiebreakers.

The serenity of gently rolling terrain and 65 acres of looking-glass lakes submerge players in a relaxing, yet challenging, golf experience. Immaculate greens extend a velvet invitation that is impossible to ignore. At 7,617 yards from the championship tees, it is one of the longest public courses in Louisiana.

Tucker snuck in multiple approaches to several holes, but a GPS-enabled cart, included in the green fee, tracks yardage and offers course tips to help golfers plan each shot. The six sets of tees lets golfers tailor the course to individual skill levels, allowing a customized approach for novice and skilled golfers alike.

Novice golfers can take advantage of the 12-acre practice facility with instruction available from onsite PGA staff, and all golfers can round out their gear with name brand apparel and equipment in the full service pro shop, located in the clubhouse.

Socializing before or after play is a popular pastime. Golfers and spectators can enjoy meal and drinks at Eagle Bar & Grill, or schedule a larger social event at The Veranda, with its beautiful outdoor deck and views overlooking the course.

The spectacular natural setting, pristine greens, GPS-enabled carts and friendly staff make Koasati Pines at Coushatta a true delight for avid golfers of all levels.
