WAYLAND, MI – Gun Lake Casino and the Gun Lake Tribe will host their annual “Stuff the Trailer” donation drive. Each year, a tribal community is selected to receive donations, which include clothing, non-perishable food, household, and personal items. This year, all donations will be sent to the Wasauksing First Nation in Parry Sound, Ontario, Canada.
“This annual event is one of the most important and heartfelt efforts we at Gun Lake Casino have the privilege of taking part in,” said Sal Semola, CEO of Gun Lake Casino. “It holds a place of great importance to the Gun Lake tribal community to help their relatives in less fortunate communities in Canada and the United States.”
Public donations can be dropped off at the Gun Lake Tribe’s government offices and Gun Lake Casino. Anyone 21 years of age and older who donates acceptable new or lightly used goods can receive free slot play vouchers for Gun Lake Casino. The free slot play voucher is matched dollar-for-dollar based on the value of the donated items, up to $100 per day. A valid receipt for donated goods is required to receive free slot play.
Donations will be accepted from Nov. 1 through Nov. 30 at the locations listed below. Acceptable items include clothing such as coats, boots, hats, gloves, toys, non-perishable food, household items, and personal hygiene products, with an emphasis on winter seasonal needs. Donations will be delivered by the Gun Lake Tribe’s Ogitch-E-Daa Society (military veterans’ organization) in mid-December.
