MARICOPA, AZ – Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino hosted its inaugural “can-struction” food drive, collecting over 1,000 pounds of food donations to benefit F.O.R. Maricopa. The creative and collaborative event brought together teams from various departments to construct imaginative structures using canned goods.
“We had an incredible time coming together as a team,” said Melissa Rowberry, Database and Advertising Manager at Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino. “This event was not only fun, but also an opportunity to learn, strengthen bonds with our colleagues, and make a meaningful difference for those in need. We’re thrilled with the turnout and look forward to making this an annual tradition.”
The event showcased the casino’s commitment to community engagement and support for local organizations, reflecting the team’s dedication to giving back in a creative and impactful way.
Long-known for its corporate giving and community support, Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino team members also supported the Maricopa Veterans Day parade. The culinary team prepared 330 box lunches that SALUTE team members served to veterans who attended the Maricopa Veterans Day parade.
The Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino SALUTE Business Impact Group (BIG) actively seeks to bring together team members who are veterans and veteran allies who embrace the core values of duty, honor and selfless service. The purpose is to cultivate a diverse and inclusive culture through grassroots efforts in assisting Veterans in a variety of ways including fundraisers, donation drives and of course volunteer opportunities.
