PAWHUSKA, OK – The Osage Nation has appointed Julio Nuñez as its new Human Resources (HR) Director. Nuñez joins a team of human resource professionals within the Osage Nation Administration Cabinet. He is a dually certified professional with over 15 years of experience whose background demonstrates expertise in tactical and strategic HR leadership in multiple industries, most recently healthcare.
“We are excited to introduce and welcome Julio Nuñez in this critical role,” said Secretary of Administration James Weigant. “His demonstrated capability as a proven executive leader brings with it the right combination of expertise, drive, and know-how that will prove immensely beneficial to the continued success and growth of the Osage Nation.”
Nuñez holds certifications as a Professional in Human Resources and the Society of Human Resources Management. His most recent Director of Human Resources role at the Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center served over 600 employees. This position at Osage Nation will bring Nuñez and his family back to Oklahoma.
“Oklahoma is home, and we are grateful to be returning, especially for an opportunity to serve the Osage Nation,” said Nuñez, whose wife is a member of the Comanche Nation. “Being able to bring my experience and motivation to this innovative and inclusive workforce is incredibly meaningful.”
Nuñez’s new role coincides with an updated Osage Nation Employee Handbook set to go into effect on June 5, 2023. Although months in the making, Nuñez worked alongside stakeholders to contribute to its final development, focusing on enhancing the Osage Nation workforce culture.
