Maria Dennison Named HR Director for Gun Lake Casino

WAYLAND, MI – Gun Lake Casino (GLC) has announced the addition of Maria Dennison, a 20-year Human Resources (HR) veteran, as its new Director. Dennison’s two decades of experience and previous roles working for tribal governments complement the management team well.

Dennison previously served as the HR Director for the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation (PBPN) in Kansas, where she set the strategic direction for talent acquisition, compensation, learning and development, performance management, and HR compliance. Before her role at PBPN, Dennison was the Regional Director for the Kansas Small Business Development Center, where she implemented a region-wide strategic business assistance program and advocated for the small business sector across 22 counties in Southwest Kansas.

“We enthusiastically welcome Maria Dennison as our new Director of Human Resources here at Gun Lake Casino,” said Jose Flores, SVP and General Manager for Gun Lake Casino. “Maria’s vast experience, coupled with her understanding of our core values, complements our team very well and will help us to continue to grow and offer excellent career opportunities here in West Michigan.”

Dennison’s career also encompasses significant roles in sales and marketing, with prior roles at Ashleigh Publishing Group, Media News Group, and Knight-Ridder. Her start in the casino industry began with Mirage Resorts as an Assistant Sportswear Buyer. She later contributed to the opening of the Bellagio before serving as the Retail Division Training Manager at Beau Rivage in Biloxi, MS.
