DURANT, OK – The Choctaw Nation has appointed Mike Haggerty as tribal prosecutor. In his role, he will lead the prosecution team within the Choctaw Nation judicial system.
Since 2022, Haggerty has served as the Chief of the Criminal Division of the Choctaw Nation Tribal Prosecutor’s Office. Haggerty also has more than 25 years of legal experience in private practice in Durant, OK. During his time in private practice, Haggerty served as a member of the Board of Directors, Treasurer, and President of the Oklahoma Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.

He will continue working to ensure the laws of the Choctaw Nation are enforced and that our tribal members are protected.”
Haggerty, a tribal member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, was born and raised in the Caddo area where his Choctaw ancestors had settled after the Trail of Tears.
