OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Oklahoma City Indian Clinic (OKCIC) announced a successful Feeding Holiday Hunger event. Over 30 volunteers came together to serve 400 vulnerable families at OKCIC. Feed The Children, a national non-profit dedicated to tackling food insecurity, provided shelf-stable food, hygiene items, children’s toys and books for the drive-thru event.
Every year, thousands of people living in Oklahoma struggle with hunger. About 560,000 Oklahomans experience food insecurity with 180,000 being children, according to Feeding America.
“Oklahoma City Indian Clinic and Feed the Children share the aligned goal of making positive changes in our community,” said Robyn Allen Sunday, OKCIC’s CEO. “Partnering with Feed the Children on this event was an obvious win for our patients. These food and hygiene resources are instrumental, and support the most vulnerable families in our community.”
