OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Oklahoma City Indian Clinic (OKCIC) has received a $250,000 charitable contribution from Pfizer to support programs focused on breast health for Native American populations. The funding will enable OKCIC to enhance breast health education, screenings, and care for Native women, a group disproportionately affected by health disparities.

“We value the unwavering support of our community, philanthropic businesses like Pfizer, and the dedication of our local, state and federal representatives,” said Robyn Sunday-Allen, CEO of OKCIC. “This collective effort is essential as Oklahoma City Indian Clinic strives to become a national model for American Indian healthcare. Pfizer’s generosity will help us address critical health disparities and positively impact the lives of Native women.”

OKCIC recently hosted a luncheon and facility tour with Pfizer representatives and members of the Oklahoma House of Representatives, both current and former. The event fostered discussions about the unique healthcare needs of Native populations, particularly in urban areas, and strategies to address challenges such as higher rates of diabetes, heart disease, and cancer.

“Collaborative efforts like these have a profound impact on the patients we serve by expanding access to life-saving services,” said Sunday-Allen.

The funding will also enable OKCIC to provide additional in-house testing for patients who receive abnormal mammogram results due to dense breast tissue, ensuring timely and effective follow-up care.
