PAWHUSKA, OK – Osage Casinos recently celebrated the grand opening of a new state-of-the-art casino and hotel in Pawhuska. This long-awaited property has been under construction since 2021 and is now open to the public following a ribbon-cutting celebration.
Located just outside of downtown Pawhuska, this new entertainment hub features 259 slot machines, over 3,000 sq. ft. of event space, a 47-room hotel and a full-service restaurant. The hotel also includes a fitness center and outdoor area outfitted with a pool, hot tub, and refreshment bar for guests to enjoy during their stay.
“This new facility in the heart of Osage Nation is a significant point of pride for Osage Casinos,” said Kimberly Pearson, Osage Casinos Chief Executive Officer. “We’ve worked hard to provide a high-quality experience and we can’t wait to start welcoming guests.”
“Opening this brand-new casino in our Nation’s capital is an extraordinary accomplishment and couldn’t have come at a better time,” said Osage Nation Principal Chief Geoffrey Standing Bear.
Despite a series of supply chain delays due to COVID-19, the newly constructed property stands at 87,808 sq. ft. The gaming and entertainment venue will employ 119 people and serve as a hospitality resource for visitors and businesses coming to the Osage Nation.
“The timely completion is part of a long-term plan to respond to the influx of tourists coming to Pawhuska,” said Chief Standing Bear. “It’s also a response to the lack of hotels available for our Osage people coming home to visit. We thank the construction team and casino leadership for working through various supply chain issues to deliver this to our community. This is an exciting time for Osage Nation.”
“At the heart of Osage Casinos is a dedication to supporting our Nation,” said Pearson. “As Pawhuska continues to expand, this new property is our chance to give back to our people and showcase Osage culture. We’re honored to be a part of the momentum taking place in our Nation’s capital.”
Opening celebrations were hosted week at the Pawhuska property with guests invited to explore and enjoy the gaming amenities. Before an official ribbon-cutting ceremony, Osage Nation members were invited for a special preview of the facility. On the day the new casino officially opened, the existing location closed. With a transformation from a 8,335 sq. ft. venue to this expansive new facility, the Pawhuska community is excited for the update.
A new Bartlesville property is hosting its grand opening later this year.
