Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians
South Bend, IN
Following the opening of Four Winds New Buffalo in 2007, Four Winds Hartford in 2011, and Four Winds Dowagiac in 2013, the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians and its Four Winds Casinos opened their fourth casino resort, Four Winds South Bend in 2018. Not only did Four Wind South Bend build upon the success of the Four Winds brand as the premier gaming destination in the Midwest, but it also offered something truly unique in Northern Indiana.
“Prior to the opening of our first casino resort in New Buffalo, MI, in 2007, the Pokagon Band had a vision to set a new standard for gaming in the Midwest,” said Mary Smith, Chief Operating Officer of Four Winds Casinos. “Over the last 17 years, we’ve created unique destination experiences for our guests that continually raise the bar with new features, amenities, and attention to detail with a focus on excellent service.”
Four Winds South Bend is no exception with the addition of several new amenities. In 2022, Four Winds unveiled an expanded gaming floor, which now spans 98,000 sq. ft. and includes 1,900 slot machines, 27 table games, a new high limit area, and an additional cage and cashier area. In 2023, the resort added a new 23-story hotel tower, which features 317 rooms including 83 suites. The expansion also added Cedar Spa, Edgewater Café, Ribbon Town Conference and Event Center, and an outdoor swimming pool on the third floor.
“Four Winds South Bend’s luxury hotel rooms, suites and hospitality suites feature all the amenities you expect to find at a luxury resort, complemented by spectacular views and impeccable guest service,” said Smith.
Located on the ground-level promenade near the hotel lobby, Cedar Spa offers a variety of traditional and unique spa therapies including steam rooms, saunas, and vitality pools, as well as separate lounges for women and men. This beautifully appointed full-service resort-style spa boasts 10 treatment rooms, including one couple’s suite and one flotation experience room, facial rooms and massage and body rooms and is designed to create a place to relax, refresh and recharge, whether for just an hour or a full day. The expansive menu of massage and body treatments, along with highly efficacious facial treatments makes this facility a must in one’s beauty routine.
The Edgewater Café is located on the third floor of the hotel and features cuisine inspired by the sun and sea. There is no better place in South Bend to enjoy delicious dining, including a daily brunch menu with options that can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, or a mid-day treat, along with an eclectic dinner menu including steaks, seafood, sandwiches, soups, salads, and much more.
Located next to Edgewater Café, Four Winds Hotel guests can relax and socialize in the outdoor oasis that features a pool, fire pits, poolside service and The Edgewater Bar. The Pool Bar menu also offers starters, soups, salads, and entrees.
Other dining amenities at Four Winds South Bend include Copper Rock Steakhouse, which features 42-day dry aged steaks, succulent cold-water lobster, gourmet desserts and more, paired with a selection of 275 wines from a wine list so vast it has received the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence numerous times.
Kankakee Grille offers rustic cuisine, wood-fired pizza and a variety of craft beers and a 37-seat bar. During the beautiful Northeast Indiana seasons, guests can also enjoy soft seating on the outdoor patio.
The Buffet offers an all-you-can-eat selection of the best cuisine from around the world. Indulge in a wide array of offerings including traditional American fare and Asian cuisine. Plus, guests can enjoy the Signature Seafood and Prime Rib buffet for dinner on Sundays.
Timbers Fast Food & Deli has a menu including fast-food favorites such as jumbo hot dogs, crisp salads, burgers, pizza, and other casual food options.
White Birch Market offers a variety of high-quality and freshly brewed coffees, a wide selection of delicious gourmet sandwiches, salads, pastries, assorted desserts, and gelato.
Located on the second level, Ribbon Town Conference and Event Center is a 24,000 sq. ft. multi-use facility that has 16 meeting rooms, a ballroom with seating for 800, two pre-function bar areas, a business center and outdoor pre-function space. In addition to hosting large meetings, conferences, banquets and special events, Ribbon Town also accommodates concerts and live performances.
Capping off 2023, Four Winds South Bend celebrated the opening of a new C Bar location. This is the second C Bar location for Four Winds, as the first location was established at Four Winds New Buffalo in 2016.
Located next to The Buffet within Four Winds South Bend, C Bar spans 4,730 total sq. ft. with 3,099 sq. ft. designated for 70 bar seats. The space can accommodate up to 233 guests and features 21 bar top games, a performance stage, a state-of-the-art sound system, and two video walls that are over 25 ft. wide. C Bar also offers live musical entertainment most evenings and is open Sunday through Thursday.
“C Bar is the perfect destination for guests that want to relax in comfort and enjoy a classic beverage or specialty cocktail,” said Smith. “They can also play in-bar video poker and enjoy live entertainment on the weekends. Whether you’re visiting Four Winds South Bend for work, play or an escape from the everyday, our friendly staff looks forward to welcoming you to enjoy an experience that is uniquely Four Winds.”
