Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe Holds “Support Tribally Licensed Businesses” Campaign

Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe

AKWESASNE, NY – The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe (SRMT) held their “Support Tribally Licensed Businesses” promotional campaign from December 10, 2024 to December 23, 2024 to spotlight the compliant tribally licensed businesses that support vital community programs.

Tribally licensed businesses are an integral part of the community as their contributions directly impact programming for the tribe’s younger generations, elders, agriculture, culture, education, recreation, and scholarships. Plus, fees collected from compliant businesses help keep roadsides clean and support local non-profit organizations.

Programs that benefited directly include: the Akwesasne Boys and Girls Club; the Heating Assistance Program; Community Advocacy Winter Jacket Program; the Akwesasne Cultural Center; Akwesasne Freedom School; Haudenosaunee Everlasting Academy of Learning; Holistic Life Foundation; the Akwesasne Streetlight Safety Project; Office of the Aging, Social Services, Roads and Highways; the Environment Division; Hogansburg Akwesasne Volunteer Fire Department; Animal Control; Generations Park; local kids sports teams; education; and scholarships.

The SRMT “Support Tribally Licensed Businesses” promotional campaign celebrated their contributions and positive impact on their community. Every purchase at a tribally licensed business entered participants into a draw-to-win one of three prize packages. The prizes included a casino stay and play package valued at $1,000, a second prize valued at $500, or a third prize valued at $250. Businesses associated with winners also receive promotional advertising from the tribe and Akwesasne TV.
