PAWHUSKA, OK – Osage Nation has appointed Susan Bayro as Cabinet Secretary of Administration. Bayro has been employed with the Osage Nation since 2011. From 2011-2019, she was employed as the Business Systems Analyst/Business Relationship Manager for the Information Technology department. From 2019-2024, she was employed as the Strategic Planning Analyst for the Self-Governance and Strategic Planning department. In May, she was elected the first Osage Mayor of the City of Pawhuska.
“With over 10 years of institutional knowledge working with various departments and programs within the Osage Nation Executive Branch, Susan Bayro is an excellent selection as the new Osage Nation Cabinet Secretary of Administration,” said Chief Geoffrey Standing Bear. “Her proven track record of successfully administering programs from start to finish – focusing on process improvement and analytics – will greatly benefit our work to improve the lives of Osage Nation tribal and community members.”
With an MBA in International Business, Bayro brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her new role. Her academic background has been instrumental in her contributions to the Osage Nation, including the development and implementation of the first Osage Nation census. She also played a key role in advancing the Osage Nation CDFI (Community Development Financial Institution) and the broadband internet expansion, which was awarded more than $40 million from the National Telecommunications Information Administration (NTIA).
