EAST TAUNTON, MA – The First Light Welcome Center is open at 1 O’Connell Way, East Taunton, MA, serving as a first step toward the First Light Casino project. The milestone marks a significant achievement for the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe, laying the foundation for future economic growth and entertainment in the greater Taunton community. To give the community more access to gaming, the Welcome Center hours are being extended from Tuesday to Saturday, 10:00am to 6:00pm.

Featuring 40 state-of-the-art slot machines, the Welcome Center is a temporary gaming facility offering guests a preview of what will become a premier casino destination and a key economic driver for the area. When First Light Casino’s full Class III casino opens, it will offer a premier gaming floor, table games, dining, and live entertainment to southeastern Massachusetts.

As the only Native American casino in the region, First Light Casino represents a landmark achievement for the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe. Beyond benefiting the tribe, First Light Casino is poised to become a major economic engine for the Taunton community. The casino will bring new jobs, attract tourism, and generate significant revenue that will support local businesses and infrastructure.

“This casino is more than just a gaming destination – it’s a symbol of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe’s resilience, sovereignty, and commitment to creating opportunities for our people and the Taunton community,” said Brian Weeden, Chairman of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe.
