“We remain committed to serving as an engine for new partnerships, job creation and economic development across the region and throughout New York State,” said Oneida Indian Nation Representative and Turning Stone Enterprises CEO Ray Halbritter. “These new awards for contracts in support of the Turning Stone Evolution continue this commitment as we enter a new era of opportunity for our state’s business community, workers and residents.”
“The Turning Stone Evolution is creating significant opportunities for New York State businesses, and we are thrilled to be part of this project,” said Christopher Farnett, President of C.J. Marly Construction, whose business has been a long-time partner to the Oneida Indian Nation and is providing roofing, insulation and sheet metal for The Crescent Hotel, The Grand Expo and Turning Stone’s new parking garage. “Beyond our current partnership, we know that the resort’s expansion will also stimulate growth across our region, bringing even more work for us and many other area businesses in the future. We are also so grateful for all of the past years of work provided to C.J. Marly at Turning Stone, which has helped provide for our local families and continues to make our small business grow, along with all of the local trades that we are signatory to.”
“When the Oneida Indian Nation invests in its enterprises, it is also investing in all of its business partners,” said Jeff Pisciarino, Vice President of KSP Painting, whose company is providing painting and wallcovering services to support the Turning Stone Evolution. “The investment in the Turning Stone Evolution and all of the subcontractors supporting it will help provide steady, good paying work for our team members and encourage the growth of our business throughout the duration of this project and, we believe, for many years to come.”
Anticipated to be complete in 2028, the Turning Stone Evolution will add 165,000 sq. ft. of conference and event space at the resort with The Grand Expo, a new facility featuring an all-new 30,000 sq. ft. Grand Ballroom and stunning outdoor event spaces. These additions will make Turning Stone the largest conference destination in Upstate New York and one of just three venues of similar caliber and size across the state.
To support the increased meeting space and growing tourism in Upstate New York, the new Crescent Hotel will offer 258 additional luxury hotel rooms to complement the resort’s existing offerings at The Lodge, The Tower and The Brook. The new hotel will also be home to Salt Seafood & Raw Bar, a new fine dining destination. A new 1,500-space parking garage will provide additional parking for these expanded amenities as well.
When complete, the Turning Stone Evolution will build on the Oneida Indian Nation’s more than $1 billion annual economic impact in Upstate New York far beyond its $370 million capital investment in the expansion with:
- A one-time economic impact exceeding $600 million
- More than 3,500 construction and related jobs
- Over $22 million in state and local tax revenues
- Significantly increased spending with New York State and regional vendors, which exceeded $160 million in 2024
Together, the amenities and offerings created by the Turning Stone Evolution will have a transformational impact on Upstate New York State tourism, allowing the region to compete with New York City and other major metropolitan areas for more prestigious and larger events. As a result, more visitors will have the opportunity to explore the region’s communities during their business or leisure travel to Turning Stone.
